Sequoia Hospital – Joyce James

January 2014

Sequoia Hospital was fortunate when Larry Moskovitz walked into our volunteer office a few years ago, asking if he could volunteer Molly, his 5-year old Golden Doodle, as a Pet Therapy volunteer. Since that day he and Molly have walked the hospital halls once a week bringing a loving smile to patient and staff alike.

The benefits of this program can only be measured by the look in the eye of the patients who are visited by this volunteer team. The bond between humans and animals is instant and the benefits go far past their initial visit and the people they “touch”, their visits are unconditional and natural.

We thank Larry and Molly for the many hours they have spent training to develop this special working partnership that brings laughter, love and countless pleasure to our hospital family.  In addition, we are grateful to Larry’s help in developing the pet therapy program at Sequoia Hospital, ensuring the “Share-A-Pet” volunteer program will continue to bring warm hugs and smiles for years to come.
